Celebrity Cruises' Equinox Makes Stunning Debut,
Sets Luxury Standard

Celebrity Cruise's magnificent Equinox—where bigger
is better.

WE
are not fans of larger cruise ships. We'd prefer to cruise only with 500 or
so other passengers, sacrificing some amenities--lavish shows, big casinos,
multiple dining options, for example--but Celebrity Cruises' new Celebrity
Equinox, is big--2,850 guests--but maintains the feel of a smaller
ship--no lines, many spacious common areas, numerous dining options and
first-class amenities from the AquaSpa to the superb entertainment on board.
The Equinox, in a word, is stunning. The dining areas are lovely, the
elevators are numerous and fast (no small issue on big ships), the
entertainment was, well, better than we've ever seen on the many, many other
ships we sailed on, and the service equals that of the most luxurious ships
was cruise on. The only complaint we had was that the cruise, a two-night
introductory cruise, was just too short. We stayed in an AquaClass stateroom,
which was comfortable, with a lovely verandah, great bathroom (6-nozzle
shower!) and a very comfortable bed.
Though
we did not have the time or opportunity to sample the seductive offers of the
AquaSpa, we're sure future guests will make these features a central part of
their Equinox cruise. Equinox's AquaClass veranda staterooms, introduced on the
Celebrity Solstice last year, are located close to the ship's two-story
"AquaSpa by Elemis." AquaClass is the only stateroom category in
Celebrity's fleet that offers no third and fourth guest berthing, making the
area quieter and more exclusive for guests wishing to relax in an utterly
serene environment.
